An excellent day with 2 highly renowned farriers, to help you have a deeper understanding of the anatomy of the horses limb through a series of presentations and dissections. A great way for para professionals to get together and discuss farriery related issues from each others point of view.
A choice of tickets are available:
The session intends to support your knowledge of those text book pictures, transporting into a practical and tangible understanding of how structures and the mechanics work and how this can impact your decisions made in everyday farriery.
Learning of anatomy makes so much more sense when you can actually locate individual structures on a cadaver limb and see how they work.
If getting hands on, the day will consist of individual tasks that will be allocated. You will be assisted and helped to locate and expose them in the most efficient way possible.
Once the structures are exposed watch how the internal structures work on a leg press.
Transverse and sagittal sections can be used to locate many external reference points............ Where is the centre of rotation or the centre of articulation??
A professional photo box and lighting will be available to create some fantastic anatomical images to use, excellent for presentations.
The use of our digital microscope will allow us all to get some fantastic images of any anatomical structure to use in presentations or even just for educational purposes.
We will also have a demonstration of how the hind limb stay and reciprocal apparatus work on a pre prepared skinned hind limb.
You are encouraged to register your CPD points.
